Little Black Book: West London Tips from The Restory

For culture, coffee and convenience, Notting Hill favourites Farm Girl, Heidi Klein and Duck and Dry should be on your to-go list.

Farm Girl: For a more satisfying way to start the day, head to farm girl in Notting Hill, which serves up homemade treats such as mixed seed granola and fig quinoa. The atmosphere is quaint and sophisticated, with washed-out pastel tables, hand thrown bowls and mini cacti to boot. A quality coffee is also guaranteed, served by stylish baristas, and for us, the café is in perfect proximity to Portobello for an afternoon market shop.

Portobello Flower Market: One mainstay, is The Restory’s long-term love of flowers. Retreat from the city at the Portobello market, where you can find stalls devoted solely to selling bunches of flowers in a panoply of pantones and bud combinations. The surrounding shops are open and are selling equally beautiful wares; the smallest of alleys are turned into temporary bakeries- there’s hardly a square inch of space that isn’t being utilised to sell something.

Duck and dry: Try them for a seamless blowout, feel-good vibes and a buzzy atmosphere. The experience is fast (15-30 minutes and you’re out the door), fun (yes fun!) and professional plus, there’s a great juice bar across the street. I recommend their açaí bowls.

Heidi Klein: Yes, it’s winter and the weather isn’t going to be on your skins side, but still, demand to glow. That being said, if maintaining a summer glow is high on your agenda and a sunny getaway is nowhere in sight then head to Heidi Klein. This salon offers an effortless way to keep your skin glowing and sun-kissed all-year round.
