Celine, founded in 1945 by Céline Vipiana, is a french ready-to-wear and luxury leather goods brand that has been part of the LVMH group since 1996. The accent aigu may no longer be with us, but to this day Celine remains the epitome of effortless Parisian chic. It’s strikingly minimal pieces mean the bags are the perfect everyday accessory whether opting for the classic trio or the iconic luggage bag.
The Celine trio is lightweight and versatile meaning it is the perfect item to grab and go. Made with a soft lambskin leather and comes in a variety of difference colours, it is made up of three separate compartments that can come unattached to transform it into a clutch.
An item that’s an everyday essential will undoubtedly suffer from wear and tear. This juicy yellow trio came in heavily scuffed on the corners, general discolouration and cracked edging.
First things first, the bag is physically assessed by our experts to determine the restoration approach before a quote is then sent to the client.
Every item we receive is cleaned appropriately in preparation for restoration so the leather can absorb the paint. Our artisan then hand mixed the perfect shade of yellow to match the original colour in order to revive it. This required a mix of different yellows, black, white and fluorescent red to create the vibrancy of the colour. The colour for the edging is mixed at the same time, but a slightly different shade this time just required a mix of yellow and black.
Once the right colours have been perfectly mixed, with a keen eye and patience, the paint is applied to the bag in light layers concealing the discolouration and reviving the yellow. A small brush is used to avoid painting the threads.
The bag is then left to dry before a finisher is applied to seal the paint correctly. Then it’s left to cure for few days before it is returned to the rightful owner to be loved for longer.
